Job Description
The Patient Access Representative is the first person that our patients and caregivers will have the opportunity to interact. This position provides support to our patients as they are experiencing a life changing event. The support is accomplished by working with the caregiver to schedule appointments, perform pre-registration and registration of new and existing patients, scheduling of outside tests, answering phones, and providing patients with information regarding access to additional external financial resources. In this position, you will have the opportunity to support our patients with issues dealing with scheduling and questions for the provider(s). In addition, you will maintain compliance with hospital and regulatory agencies by obtaining various consents.
Key Responsibilities:
Processes appointment requests for all types of outpatient appointments for new and established patients
Obtains patient consents
Performs registration of patients
Scheduling of outside tests
Completes verification of insurance prior to patient arrival for services
Identifies uninsured patients to perform financial counseling
Assists with completing applications for external sources
Required Qualifications:
High School diploma/GED
3+ years' experience in patient access, scheduling, registration or customer service in a healthcare environment
Preferred Qualifications:
1 year healthcare experience

Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
