The
Rehabilitation and Enterprises Division
plays a critical role in Montana's correctional system - supporting the physical and mental well‑being of inmates, providing education and job‑readiness programs, guiding community reintegration, and offering trauma‑informed services to victims. This is work with purpose, and we're looking for people who are ready to make a difference.
As a
Nursing Aide
in our 24/7 Infirmary Unit, you'll be at the heart of clinical care inside a secure facility. The unit features 13 inpatient beds and supports more than 1,400 inmates, offering a uniquely dynamic and meaningful healthcare environment. In this role you will:
Deliver
hands‑on patient care
and support medical case management across the facility.
Perform medical screenings, triage, daily sick call, medication administration, and chronic care support.
Provide education, counseling, and assistance with daily living activities.
Maintain safety and security within a structured, team‑oriented environment.
Help stabilize and support inmates so they can successfully reintegrate into the general population or the community.
This is not your typical Nursing Aide role - it's
purpose‑driven care
in a challenging, highly rewarding setting.
QUALIFICATIONS
The knowledge, skills and abilities for this position are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to:
High school diploma or equivalent.
1-2 years of job-related experience.
May be certified in Basic Life Safety.
Graduation from a Nursing Training Program is preferred but not required.
Alternative combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
