Job Description Summary
The new Advanced Manufacturing Hub at Miami Hamilton campus is hiring 1-3 undergraduate engineering students for 100% on-site, hands-on role, assisting with equipment deployment, research, & laboratory operations across various technical disciplines. AM Hub is a 70,000 square foot facility consisting of 11 labs with room to grow. The results-oriented role requires a minimum of 6 hours onsite per week, a strong commitment to understanding lab-specific safety procedures, & reminding lab occupants (students, visitors, partners, etc.) of safety procedures. Duration is semester-based with the potential for extension.
Preferred candidates are teachable, Engineering majors, machining experiece, reliable, excelent, worth ethic, and have reliable transportation to our locaction.
Job Description
Essential Duties
Software: Computer-Aided Drafting, Computer-Aided Manufacturing, Inventory, engineering lab equipment.
Provide support for divisional/departmental services in Engineering Technolgoy Deparment.
Provide supervisory functions including, but not limited to, scheduling, determining training needs, preparing training materials, and conducting training sessions, and assiting faculty.
Work is done independently of supervision.
Learn equipment and lab saftey for our labs such as robitic, subtraictive lab, & Electro Mechaical.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Demonstrate evidence of advanced technical skills, training, professional management, & mentoring.
Work performed is highly complex and requires extensive training (either coursework or preivos job expeirence).
Must have
engineering courses completed in either Oxforrd or Hamilton engeering programs
Must be an undergradute student (not masters or Phd)
Minimal qualifications:
Enginering knowledge and experience is required from course work and/or previous jobs. Need consistent weekly availability of 5 hours minimum (maximum 20). Student Mastser Undergrad posions pay $12-$13.5 hr (based on experience.) Must 18 years or older.
