PAY AND FAIR LABOR STANDARDS ACT (FLSA) STATUS:Pay Range: 409Hourly Rate: $18.19 - $28.20FLSA Status: Non-ExemptThe normal starting pay for this position is the minimum of the pay range listed above. A higher rate of pay may be considered, dependent on the qualifications and experience of the selected applicant and/or the City's step placement policy.ELIGIBILITY LIST PREFERENCE ORDERFull-time City employees will receive preference in the following order: major division first, then department, then all other full-time City employees. Part-time/year-round City employees will receive preference next. If there are no qualified full-time City employees or part-time/year-round City employees, external applicants will then be considered (when the vacancy is open to external applicants). This means employees in this job classification can be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination if they test positive for marijuana components or metabolites, even if they possess a medical marijuana license. JOB SUMMARYThis posting will be used to fill a current vacancy in the Financial Services Division of the Utilities Department within the City of Oklahoma City. An eligibility list will be established or supplemented for filling future vacancies per provisions of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is under the direction of an immediate supervisor. The purpose of this position is to perform manual and clerical work of a responsible nature in the requisition, receipt, inspection, storage, issuance, ordering, and minor repair of a variety of supplies, parts, tools, and equipment. An employee of this classification performs work of a specialized nature, involving skills which can normally be acquired on the job. The worker may occasionally function independently in a substation isolated geographically from a central warehouse facility, but usually works under the direction of an immediate supervisor. Essential job functions include: receiving, monitoring and distributing general or specialized materials, tools, merchandise, equipment and supplies according to established procedures; maintaining and organizing inventory; placing orders with vendors; monitoring and rotating critical stock, such as medicines, fuels, chemicals, and/or other date-sensitive materials, to ensure availability, quality and safety; performing routine research and verifying the accuracy of invoices; and ensuring the security of supplies, equipment or materials. Other duties include: maintaining logs and completing routine forms; delivering parts, tools, apparatus, equipment and/or supplies; running errands related to department operations; receiving and transmitting information and/or instructions via department two-way radio; operating specialized equipment and/or vehicles; and maintaining the storerooms, warehouses, and yards in a safe, clean and orderly condition. Work is reviewed through periodic inspections of work site by the supervisor, ensuring the inventory has been adequately documented and facilities properly maintained. VETERANS PREFERENCEHonorably discharged veterans of the United States Active Duty Armed Forces, National Guard, and Reserve Forces who are not currently employed full-time by the City of Oklahoma City and who meet the qualifications for the position shall be given preference.
