Why you’ll love this position:
The state treasurer is the custodian of state funds and funds received from the federal government. Upon receipt of state and federal funds, the state treasurer ensures the moneys are deposited in selected banking institutions approved by the governor and the state auditor. Moneys not needed for current expenses are invested through various arrangements as provided by law. The successful candidate for this role will be an integral player in a small banking division team whose role is critical in performing banking tasks, researching and resolving issues, and providing excellent customer service.

Reconciliation of bank accounts.
Maintenance of records to support bank account reconciliations.
Creation and/or maintenance of excel spreadsheets.
Communication of issues to responsible state agency personnel.
Perform compliance reviews.
Reconciling internal computer applications.
Perform research requests, as needed.
Backup to other team members and assist with other banking functions, as needed.

Bachelor’s degree. Substitutions may be allowed (for example, but not limited to, professional certifications or additional relevant experience).
Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
Ability to pay attention to detail and accuracy.
Remain flexible, self-motivated, and work independently or as a member of a group with little supervision.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to maintain effective working relationships with others in the office and agency customers.
Successful background check results are required for employment in this position. This may include background checks involving a candidate’s name and/or fingerprints and other screenings as needed for the specific position. Authorization to work in the United States is a prerequisite of employment. The Treasurer’s Office will not sponsor applicants for work visas.
