About the Agency

The Mississippi Department of Transportation is responsible for providing a safe intermodal transportation network that is planned, designed, constructed, and maintained in an effective, cost efficient, and environmentally sensitive manner.

About the Position

First-level supervisory position accountable for understanding utility installation including, but not limited to, water, sewer, electrical power, and telecommunications. Position will oversee technical support to construction projects, traffic control and safety, research and development, roadway design, right of ways, testing transportation planning and bridges. Jobs at this level inspect concrete plants and mix designs, inspect and supervise paving and bridge recommendations; training; work planning, assignments, and review; and performance assessment, coaching, and progressive discipline. Supervision at this level also requires these employees to have the knowledge and skills to perform and review the work overseen.
