Multiple positions are available statewide, with openings occurring throughout the year at various locations. Apply today! Responsibilities may encompass various tasks across multiple locations, including grounds and maintenance, housekeeping, visitor activities, overnight lodging accommodations, campgrounds, specialized recreational activities, group conference planning, or interpretive programming. These assignments offer opportunities for learning and skill development in park management functions. Duties include but are not limited to:Seasonal management responsibilities for remote or unstaffed park areasAssist higher-level Superintendents within larger state parks or recreation areasPromote park activities through public speaking and community outreachOversee daily operations of remote park areas or specific operational departmentsEnsure preservation, protection, and maintenance of facilities, campgrounds, trails, etc.Perform administrative tasks: data collection, budget monitoring, purchasingSupervise technical seasonal staffParticipate in maintenance, construction, and repair activitiesConduct park security, compliance, and customer service proceduresServe as point of contact for park improvement projectsCollaborate with agencies and partners for information exchangeConduct routine inspections of park grounds and facilities Positions in this class may work outside normal business hours, including weekends and designated holidays, to respond to complaints or incidences. Requirements / Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Two years of coursework in an institution of higher education AND one year of related experience. Experience (paid or volunteer) in park management or related field may be substituted for education on a year for year basis. Other related fields may include (but not limited to) the following: wildlife, fisheries, natural resource management, environmental science, public relations, tourism/hospitality, business or public administration, education/interpretation, history, cultural resource management, recreation, retail management, criminal justice, and horticulture.Other: Driver's license is required.
