Job Description
Responsibilities
The primary purpose of the Telemetry/Neuro-Diagnostic Monitoring Technician position is to be under the direction of the Staff Nurse, assisting in the performance of clinical and technical procedures which contribute to the care of the adult telemetry/video EEG monitored patient (age 17 to maturity).
Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent. CPR Certification required. Three (3) to six (6) months of the healthcare experience or training in the use of electrocardiograph equipment. Successful completion of a program in the specialty. Prior experience in the reading of EKG strips preferred. Validated previous Neuro-Diagnostic Video EEG Monitoring experience or completion of education during orientation. Successful completion of didactic course (LTM 100) and competency assessments within three (3) months of hire. Employee who fails the didactic course, must complete remediation, and pass the course within thirty (30) days. Must complete 20 clinical observation hours with one (1) month of completion of the didactic course.
