About the Position

Manages AD, Entra, M365 tenant, Azure environment and security applications but not limited to email filter, endpoint protections and logging applications. Manages Virtual Server and VDI environment. Supervisory level position accountable for the development, enhancement and maintenance of multi-platform hardware and software operating systems at the high end of complexity and high risk or impact for assigned organizational areas. Supervises team leaders and lower-level Systems Administrators. Interacts with stakeholders and high-level business users. Manages vendor relations. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with the Director of IT Infrastructure. Must have the ability to convey the seriousness of issues that may arise with the various applications and hardware and the seriousness in resolving those issues. Must evaluate and make recommendations on upgrades and technology. Must react in a timely manner to notifications from security applications and email filters and notify Director of IT Infrastructure and Cybersecurity Director of issues and recommendations. This position works with the security team, network team, and helpdesk team. Must have a valid driver's license and pass an extensive background check.

What you'll need to be Successful

Solid knowledge of various AD systems and related tools. Knowledge of State of Mississippi Information Technology Services IT requirements for all state agencies.

Preferred Qualifications

Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree and 10+ years of IT experience with emphasis in multi-platform hardware and software systems and systems administration. Agency preferred qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science from an accredited 4-year college/university and 10+ years of IT experience in managing multiple hardware platforms. Experience in managing AD, Entra, M365 and Azure environments. Professional network engineering certification. Experience in a Systems Specialist or similar role.
