Job Description
The Riverside University Health System, Department of Behavioral Health, is actively seeking a Senior Clinical Psychologist to join their team!
The position is with the Public Guardian's office, located in Riverside, California. The incumbent will be required to travel to residential facilities located throughout the region and surrounding counties, to conduct face-to-face assessments of conservatees, evaluating them for grave disability. Duties entail report writing and editing assessments, completing Confidential Capacity Assessment and Declaration forms, reviewing facility records and consulting with facility clinicians and staff. Incumbents will have collateral contact with family/non-family members, case managers, Public Guardian staff, and attorneys to assist with assessment and case planning. Additionally, incumbents will prepare assessment reports for court trials and appear in court as necessary.
This role represent the full journey-level classification for licensed clinical psychologists. The incumbent will be expected to provide a full range of mental health therapy services, managing cases from moderate to highly complex in nature, and may serve in a lead capacity over other clinical staff.Work Schedule:
9/80 work schedule, Monday through Friday, generally 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM, every other Monday or Friday off (depending on position)

• Provides crisis intervention for emergency situations; conducts the more difficult client assessment, treatment, placement, and/or referral actions.
• Conducts diagnostic interviews and psychological testing batteries; provides direct individual, family and group psychotherapy treatment.
• Evaluates and recommends action on petitions for confinement; provides clinical supervision of postdoctoral psychologists.
• Coordinates and schedules services to clients with other divisions; provides professional consultation to other mental health, public social service, and legal agencies regarding mental health problems, disposition, and treatment.
• Under medical direction, develops and implements new treatment plans; prepares reports and correspondence; prepares reports and correspondence.Knowledge of: Principles, techniques, devices, and methodology in applied clinical psychology; Sources, uses, and application of psychological tests; Characteristics of emotional and mental disorders and their treatment.
Ability to: Consult with and assist in the professional development of other Clinical Psychologists; administer and apply psychological tests; identify and react to normal and abnormal behavior; make diagnoses, treatment plans, and prognoses; prepare psychological case reports; establish and maintain rapport with clients, fellow workers, their professional staff, and the public; work within the policies and procedures of mental health programs.
Licenses: Possession of a license to practice as a Clinical Psychologist issued by the Psychological Examining Committee of the Medical Board of CaliforniaORPossession of an out-of-state license to practice as a clinical psychologist. Individuals who are hired in this option shall obtain their licensure to practice as a Clinical Psychologist issued by the Psychological Examining Committee of the Medical Board of California within three years from the date of hire.
