We are looking for a positive and energetic Psychologist for a 30-32 hours/week position with our Inpatient Units. The ideal candidate will possess licensure plus 3-5 years of experience as a psychologist and may possess a post-doctoral specialty. The successful candidate will have an interest in helping youth with mental illness ages 6-17 maximize their potential. What you’ll do:
• Provide individual, group, and family psychotherapy with Inpatient Unit children and adolescents.
• Conduct assigned psychodiagnostics evaluations for child and adolescent clients from the Inpatient units, and provide feedback to client, family, and HCPH teams.
• Complete timely therapy and evaluation service notes, psychological evaluation reports, and assigned weekly treatment reviews of Inpatient clients.
• Participate in Treatment Planning and discharge planning meetings for Inpatient children and adolescent clients and develop therapy goals and written reviews of client and/or family treatment progress to be included in treatment plan documents.
• Participate in Inpatient treatment rounds and meetings to provide updates on services provided on personal caseload and psychological consultation related to treatment and diagnostic impressions of other clients in the programs.
• Complete documentation about consumer progress, evaluation reports, and treatment plan reviews in a timely manner.
• Participate as team member to support clients and staff during and after crisis events at the facility.
• Participate in Psychology Department meetings.
• Complete online in-service trainings as needed.
• Provide secondary supervision of psychology interns as needed.
• At times, engage opportunities to supervise LPC clinicians in providing individual, family and group psychotherapy and case management services.
• Serve on various committees within the hospital such as for Robust Process Improvement projects, programming decisions, policy and procedure updates
What you’ll need for success:
• Ability to provide individual, group, and family therapy
• Ability to apply therapy modalities including CBT, DBT, behavioral, ACT, TFCBT, Prolonged Exposure, psychodynamic, family systems, Emotion-Focused Family therapy, EMDR, and/or others appropriate to treat a diverse client population
• Knowledge of psychological assessment techniques and psychological and psychometric measures
• Knowledge of mental illness and developmental disabilities and their effect on individual cognitive and behavioral functioning
Minimum Qualifications:
• Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology
• Licensure as a psychologist in Missouri
• Ability to perform professional duties in accordance with standards of professional conduct asserted by the American Psychological Association (APA) Ethics Code and the laws and regulations of applicable governing legal authorities
• Ability to work in acute inpatient and residential units for children/adolescents ages 6- 17
• Experience with child/adolescent populations and their families
• Experience in inpatient and/or residential setting and with clients with severe and acute mental illness
• Trauma-informed treatment experience
Preferred Skills:
• Objective and projective assessment competency and experience highly desirable
• Trauma treatment experience in TFCBT, PE, EMDR, or other protocols highly desirable
• DBT treatment experience highly desirable
• Experience with Autism Spectrum population is highly desirable
• Family therapy experience or family systems orientation is desirable Excellent State of Missouri
