We are looking for a highly skilled
Senior Data Engineer
to support and evolve data platforms on
Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and/or Microsoft Azure
for a leading client in the paper industry.
This role is designed for professionals with strong technical expertise who can
design, build, optimize, and maintain scalable, reliable, and efficient data solutions
. The position requires working in complex enterprise environments, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring high-quality data delivery aligned with business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain
robust and scalable data pipelines
in cloud environments (GCP and/or Azure).
Implement
data ingestion, transformation, and modeling processes
(ETL / ELT).
Optimize
performance, cost, and reliability
of cloud-based data solutions.
Handle
large volumes of structured and unstructured data
.
Collaborate with
Data Analytics, BI, Architecture, and Business teams
to understand requirements and propose effective technical solutions.
Ensure
data quality, security, and governance best practices
are applied.
Participate in
code reviews, technical standards definition, and documentation
.
Provide
technical support and incident resolution
in production environments.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience as a
Senior Data Engineer
or in similar roles.
Strong expertise in
cloud platforms
, particularly:
Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
(BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Composer, etc.)
or Microsoft Azure (preferred/acceptable)
Solid experience in
ETL / ELT pipeline development
.
Advanced proficiency in
SQL
.
Strong programming skills in
Python (mandatory)
; knowledge of
Scala or Java is a plus
.
Hands-on experience with
data modeling
(Data Warehouses, Data Lakes, Lakehouse architectures).
Experience using
version control systems (Git)
.
Proven experience working in
production environments
, ensuring stability, performance, and troubleshooting.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with
distributed processing frameworks
such as Apache Spark.
Knowledge of
modern data architectures
(streaming, event-driven).
Experience working with
Agile methodologies
(Scrum, Kanban).
Understanding of
cloud security and access management (IAM)
.
Previous experience in
manufacturing, industrial, or continuous process industries
(nice to have).
Certifications (Plus):
Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer
Or equivalent
cloud certifications
Languages:
Intermediate to advanced English (preferred)
