Job Description
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Wyoming State Parks, Historic Sites and Trails is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to fill a seasonal Administrative Assistant position with the Trails program and Shoshone District. This position will provide critical administrative support to our staff, ensuring smooth daily operations and exceptional visitor service.
• $16-18/hr.
• 40 hrs./week
• 9-month term
• Stationed at Lander Trails office

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed at the job level.
• Provide administrative support to district staff, including scheduling appointments, maintaining calendars, and managing travel arrangements.
• Answer phones and emails in a courteous and professional manner, directing inquiries and concerns appropriately.
• Review and process paperwork, including purchasing card reports, travel vouchers, applications, and reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Assist with data entry and maintain accurate park records in a digital database.
• Compile reports and create documents using office software (Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite preferred).
• Maintain office supplies and equipment, ordering and restocking as needed.
• Provide customer service to visitors, answering questions, offering assistance, and issuing permits where applicable.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor and Shoshone District Manager.
PREFERENCES/**AGENCY REQUIREMENTS:
• Associate's degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of administrative experience in a fast-paced environment.
• A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are preferred.
**Agency requires that the successful applicant have a high school diploma or equivalent.
KNOWLEDGE:
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Strong computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Suite
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and maintain a positive and professional attitude.
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is typically performed in an office environment. Some travel within the Shoshone District (Rawlins, South Pass City, Evanston, Fort Bridger) may be required.
NOTES:
• FLSA: Non-Exempt
• This is an hourly position. We pay on the last working day of the month.
• Housing is not provided.
• You are eligible for Insurance Benefits on the first day of your fourth month of employment.
