Summary:
The Research Physiologist will provide assistance in the development and execution of human integrative physiology studies in operational environments to include military training environments. This requirement includes the conduct and support of research involving human subjects in accordance with applicable federal, DoD, and DHA regulations.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
Conducts applied human-performance research involving military and tactical populations.
Collects and analyzes physiological measurements, including oxygen consumption, metabolism, skin blood flow, heart rate, and core and skin temperature.
Coordinates IRB and other human-use research documentation and compliance activities.
Organizes, analyzes, and interprets research data and prepares tables, graphs, reports, manuscripts, and presentations.
Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
Proficiency with Government procurement processes.
Ability to support field research in military training environments.
Ability to work outside normal business hours, including weekends and holidays, when required to conduct field research.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree or higher in human bioenergetics, exercise physiology, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience in applied human-performance research, data analysis, and program development within military or tactical populations.
Experience conducting physiological measurements, including oxygen consumption, metabolism, skin blood flow, heart rate, core temperature, skin temperature, and related variables.
Experience coordinating scientific and human-use documentation with IRBs and other applicable research oversight organizations.
Experience organizing and analyzing research data.
Experience preparing findings, tables, and graphs for reports, manuscripts, and scientific presentations.
Experience coordinating laboratory and field human-research investigations.
Experience coordinating supply inventories and transportation of equipment and biological samples.
Activity/sleep monitoring, psychological health and mental-readiness assessments, biological sample collection/processing, human-performance assessments, field/lab SOPs, and experience supporting field research in military environments.
Travel: CONUS travel may be required based on study schedules and mission needs.
Must obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 3 investigation (or equivalent). At minimum, a favorable interim suitability determination must be granted before contract work begins, pending final adjudication.
Preferred Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills):
Any related additional certifications.
Pay and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $71,000.00 to $88,000.00 annually.
