Overview

Nakupuna Companies is seeking a Reclamation Technician to support our environmental restoration efforts in the Rocky Mountain region. Typical projects include stream restoration, flood recovery, fire recovery, and abandoned mine lands closure projects. Must have a strong ability to interact professionally with colleagues, subcontractors, clients, and project stakeholders in the ever-changing environment of a field construction project, while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

Field support for stream, trail, and mine lands restoration

Installation of erosion control features

Acceptance of material deliveries and load tickets

Assist with revegetation efforts (plant cuttings, seeding, blankets and/or straw)

Support installation of mine closures (bat safe doors, gates, cover grates, masonry bulkheads, mechanical backfills, or mine shaft safety closures)

Deliver equipment and materials to mine sites

Reclamation of tailings and waste rock piles

Any labor support needed to successfully complete project

Must enjoy working outside and exposed to all seasonal weather conditions

Able to travel within the Colorado front range area and/or Rocky Mountain region

Qualifications

Skills/Qualifications:

Stormwater Best Management Practices (BMPs) installation/inspection experience preferred

Revegetation restoration experience preferred

Ability to clearly communicate in English

Basic math skills with the ability to read maps and follow directions

Welding and earth work equipment operation experience are a plus

Education/Experience:
Must possess a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

Safety Requirements
:

Complete safety orientation and abide by safety/personal protective equipment policies

Demonstrate safe work practices and avoid unsafe behaviors

Drive defensively, avoids preventable accidents and always wears a seat belt

Attend regularly scheduled safety training

Complete the OSHA-10 safety training program - desired

Report all unsafe conditions to your Supervisor

Work Location:
On-site, reports to Wheat Ridge, CO office.

Clearance:
No clearance required. Must be a U.S. Citizen

Travel Requirements:
Willingness to travel 50-75% of time along the Rocky Mountain region.

Physical Requirements:
The ideal candidate must at a minimum be able to meet the following physical requirements of the job

Ability to perform repetitive motions with the hands, wrists, and fingers

Ability to engage in and follow audible communications in emergency situations

Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer

Ability to stand for prolonged periods

Able to hike and carry material to mine sites to support closure activity

Able to work in an outdoors team environment

Able to lift a minimum of 75 pounds

Participate in the medical monitoring program, if required

The Nakupuna Companies use a market-based compensation strategy to ensure that our employees are compensated within applicable market ranges commensurate with multiple factors, including but not limited to the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements, and position location. The projected compensation range for this position is $20.00-$24.00/hourly. The hourly range displayed represents the typical hourly range for this position and is just one component of Nakupuna Companies total compensation package for employees.
