Hawthorn Children’s Psychiatric Hospital provides specialized care for clients diagnosed with mental illness.
This position is a Quality Improvement Specialist focusing on regulatory compliance for an adolescent psychiatric hospital. The hospital is accredited with the Joint Commission through the hospital manual and one certified unit.
This position reports to the Quality Management department and communicates with leadership and multi-disciplinary teams to monitor, implement and correct healthcare compliance.

Key Responsibilities
·
Works with administration, treatment providers, and support staff to provide data for decision-making purposes.
·
Facilitates root cause analysis and failure mode and effects analysis.
·
Provides facilitation and support to teams and departments related to patient safety events.
·
Fulfills the data reporting requirements to regulatory bodies.
·
Performs data abstraction, validation, and logic checks to ensure accuracy of the data.
·
Completes timely, accurate data analysis and interpretations.
·
Creates and updates graphs or other data visualization tools as needed.
·
Assists clinical and support areas in developing performance improvement measures and reporting mechanisms for corrective action plans.
·
Develops and creates reports to share with staff to enhance organizational knowledge and understanding of quality and process improvement data.
·
Provides data, performance improvement and safety information in meetings and committees.
·
Facilitates training and/or provides meaningful infographics related to data, performance improvement or safety issues.
·
Facilitates and actively participates in hospital committees
·
Reviews and accurately categorizes incident reports based on objective and consistent guidelines.
·
Other duties as assigned.

Required Eligibility
1.
No discipline within the last 12 months.
2.
Bachelor’s degree in safety, public health, environmental health, occupational safety, healthcare field or another related field
3.
Two (2) years’ experience related to workplace safety, environmental science, regulatory compliance, healthcare life safety, or healthcare environment of care.
4.  Two (2) years in healthcare administration/healthcare policy interpretation.
