About the Position

**This is a non-state service (NS14), time-limited position. ** Seasoned professional position accountable for researching, consulting, planning, promoting, implementing, and evaluating oral health program service and grant activities pertaining to oral health screening and education in senior living facilities throughout the state. Applicants must conduct impact analysis of the senior oral health program, considering the environmental influences on public health outcomes, to inform public health strategies for preventing and controlling oral health problems and to guide policy, laws, and regulations to address this issue.
The applicant will also be accountable for supporting health program teams through dental care coordination. As the dental care coordinator, the applicant will act as a liaison between patients and dentists. General knowledgeable of the different state dental insurance plans to ensure a smooth and informed experience for patients is preferable. A high degree of confidentiality is essential in the execution of assigned duties.
Applicants should have a health or science-related background and the ability to conduct basic research and analysis (e.g. senior oral health outcomes (MS and national), audit of program effectiveness, etc.). They should be able to identify best practices and develop components of future programs for implementation. The applicant should also have grant writing skills and provide.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Grant writing skills, Excellent organizational and time management skills. Some knowledge of dental terminology and procedures. Computer proficiency, including experience with Excel spreadsheets Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Some knowledge of dental insurance coverage that is accepted in MS.
