JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Penn State Harrisburg Food Services is seeking to fill administrative support vacancies for the
2026 to 2027 Academic Year
.
This is a student opening with various shifts ranging between
Monday through Friday
from
9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
or
1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
or
3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Job Duties
Greet customers/visitors, provide information and/or refer as appropriate; review and direct phone and mail communications; act on routine requests.
Operate equipment and/or computer systems within unit, including point of sale (POS) systems.
Schedule and maintain calendar of appointments and meetings; schedule conference rooms.
May coordinate travel arrangements, make reservations, and process reimbursements.
Compile and organize materials from different sources to draft e-mails and memos, prepare documents, meeting materials, and reports.
Proofread materials to ensure proper grammar/formatting.
Process and review routine payroll and/or human resources forms.
Create and maintain work unit files and databases.
Perform data entry; gather, assemble and format data to create simple reports.
Update and make routine changes to web pages.
Attend meetings; record, transcribe and distribute meeting minutes.
Serve as resource to others on a variety of subjects including office equipment, software application usage, and information processing procedures.
May maintain inventory and order/purchase office supplies; arrange for equipment maintenance; process work orders for facilities repairs/needs.
Assist in arranging special events.
Assist with planning and coordination of projects.
May provide training and/or supervision of student and other support staff.
May assist with food production, merchandising, customer service and other food service duties.

Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies.
