THE POSITION
Step into a meaningful role with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources as a Park Resource Ranger, DCNR (Seasonal). This is your chance to help visitors enjoy Kings Gap Environmental Education Center in a safe and positive way. You will support park operations, assist guests, and help preserve the beauty of this special place. Your work will make a real difference in the daily experience of park visitors.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position supports the daily safety, upkeep, and visitor experience at Kings Gap Environmental Education Center. The role combines public service, resource protection, and hands-on operational tasks. As a Park Resource Ranger, DCNR (Seasonal), you will perform the following duties:Patrol Duties: Conduct patrols by vehicle, bicycle, ATV, and foot to support visitor safety and protect park propertyVisitor Assistance: Provide guidance, information, and first responder support for guests when neededFacility Oversight: Inspect structures, trails, and use areas to address hazards and maintain safe conditionsPublic Information: Monitor and update posted materials so visitors receive clear and accurate informationEmergency Response: Act quickly during incidents by coordinating with staff and applying first aid or CPR as requiredInterested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.Work Schedule and Additional Information:This is a seasonal, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. There is not an option to buy into health care benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2026 until November 2026 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment March 2027. Days/shifts will vary due to the seasonal nature of the position, holidays and weekends will be required, will work 37.5 hours/5 days per weekTelework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONSSpecial Requirements:This position requires possession of an active motor vehicle license.This position requires all employees to obtain valid certification in standard first aid and adult, child, and infant CPR approved by the American Red Cross, Ameri
