THE POSITION
The Department of Conservation & Natural Resources is excited to announce an opportunity for a seasonal Park Maintenance Worker position at Ohiopyle State Park. This role involves engaging in semi-skilled manual labor focused on the construction and upkeep of various facilities, landscapes, and public works projects within the park. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position entails performing semi-skilled tasks independently, providing assistance to a skilled tradesperson, or taking on a leadership role for a small team of manual laborers engaged in routine activities. The work requires the operation of various tools and equipment related to construction, grounds maintenance, and general upkeep, often necessitating the application of skills that are developed through hands-on experience. Responsibilities include executing minor repairs and carrying out regular grounds maintenance and custodial tasks with a significant degree of autonomy, although these activities are subject to review upon completion. For more complex construction or repair assignments, the individual will work under the guidance of a skilled trades worker or a supervisor, ensuring that all tasks meet the required standards of quality and safety.Interested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.Work Schedule and Additional Information:This is a seasonal, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. There is not an option to buy into health care benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2026 until November 2026 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay.
