THE POSITION
Join the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources as a Seasonal Park Maintenance Worker and help keep some of Pennsylvania's most beautiful park areas in great shape. This role gives you the chance to work outdoors, support public recreation, and learn hands-on maintenance skills. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will support the daily upkeep and operations of several state parks within the Lyman Run State Park Complex. As a Seasonal Park Maintenance Worker, you will perform the following duties:Visitor Assistance: Assist park visitors by offering helpful information in a friendly mannerEquipment Operation: Operate small equipment such as mini excavators, skid steer loaders, tractors, and mowersGround Care: Maintain park grounds by mowing, trimming, removing litter, and preparing new turf areasBuilding Upkeep: Clean restrooms and buildings, restock supplies, and make minor repairsMaintenance Tasks: Perform routine repairs, painting, and basic carpentry, plumbing, and masonry workRecord Keeping: Complete daily records, mileage sheets, fuel logs, and other required formsInterested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.Work Schedule and Additional Information:This is a seasonal, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. There is not an option to buy into health care benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2026 until November 2026 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment approximately March 2027. Typical work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch. Shifts and hours will vary including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Will work 5 of 7 days/37.5 hours per week. Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
