THE POSITION
Are you in search of a hands-on position where your work helps keep some of Pennsylvania's most scenic parks clean, safe, and welcoming? The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is currently seeking Park Maintenance Workers to support the upkeep and care of the Lyman Run Complex, which includes Cherry Springs, Patterson, and Denton Hill State Parks. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Park Maintenance Worker, your role will involve performing semi-skilled construction and maintenance work using equipment such as mini-excavators, small tractors, and commercial lawn mowers. You will also be responsible for general housekeeping and building upkeep, which includes cleaning and restocking restrooms, pit latrines, offices, and other facilities. Additional duties include the following: Mowing and cutting weeds and grassCleaning drains and culvertsPainting and staining park buildings, signs, and gatesReplacing light bulbs and tightening fixturesCompleting daily records, automotive mileage sheets, fuel dispensing records, and leave slipsAssisting park visitors and disseminating information in a friendly, helpful mannerInterested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.Work Schedule and Additional Information:This is a seasonal, 37.5 hours/week, full-time position with no health care benefits. There is not an option to buy into health care benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2026 until November 2026 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment approximately in March 2027. Work schedule will include weekends and holidays. Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; orAn equivalent combination of experience and training.Other Requirements:You must meet the PA residency requirement. For more information o
