DXC Technology Italy is looking for a Observability Engineer Expert to join C&I offering.
Responsibilities
Designing, implementing, and maintaining complex monitoring and observability platforms for infrastructure, applications, and services
Integrating monitoring solutions with heterogeneous environments, including on-premise systems and public cloud platforms
Managing and evolving existing monitoring systems to ensure scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency
Defining monitoring standards, alerting strategies, dashboards, and reporting to support proactive incident detection and resolution
Collaborating with infrastructure, application, and operations teams to ensure comprehensive system visibility, acting as direct interface with clients and technical teams
Contributing to incident investigation, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives, resolving complex technical issues
Producing and maintaining technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures
Acting as a technical reference and mentor for junior colleagues, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices
Contributing to the hiring process through technical assessments during interviews
We Require
Strong hands-on experience with open-source monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, Grafana
Familiarity with observability concepts and tools
Experience with commercial monitoring platforms such as Nagios XI and AWS CloudWatch
Solid experience administering Linux-based systems in complex, distributed environments
Ability to integrate monitoring platforms with existing infrastructure and operational processes
Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S) and system performance concepts
Practical experience monitoring workloads deployed on public cloud platforms, particularly AWS
Exposure to hybrid environments combining on-premise and cloud infrastructures
Nice to have
Familiarity with OpenTelemetry and Prometheus
Additional experience with Dynatrace and/or Azure Monitor
Experience with Generative AI tools is a plus

The position offers a gross annual base salary starting from €36.000.
Compensation is determined in line with the applicable collective labor agreement (CBA: Contratto Collettivo Nazionale di Lavoro per l'industria metalmeccanica e della installazione di impianti) and based on objective and gender-neutral criteria, including responsibility, experience and skills.
