Job Description
National Career Readiness Certificate
As a member of the Skilled Iowa Initiative, the State of Iowa lists some positions with "National Career Readiness Certificate - credential preferred."
The National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) is a portable, evidence-based credential that measures essential workplace skills and is a reliable predictor of workplace success. The certificate is an easily understood, conveniently attained, and universally valued workforce credential. It validates that an individual has certain essential skills important across a range of jobs.
While NCRC certification gives applicants evidence-based credentials of job preparedness it is not a requirement to apply for State of Iowa jobs.
Iowa Workforce Development offers the NCRC assessment at no cost to residents of Iowa and all Veterans. Click here for a list of IowaWORKS Centers.
