The
Mission Systems IT Analyst
at
Nellis AFB, Nevada
provides enterprise‑level systems administration, host‑based security implementation, and mission‑focused IT support for Air Force operations.
This role is responsible for maintaining secure, resilient computing environments, with emphasis on
Windows systems administration
,
Linux support
, and
McAfee Host Based Security System (HBSS)
deployment across operational platforms. The analyst ensures systems remain compliant, available, and optimized to support Air Force ISR and C4ISR mission requirements.
Core Responsibilities
Systems Administration
- Independently manage daily administration tasks with direct operational impact.
OS & Software Management
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux operating systems and mission‑essential software.
Technical Troubleshooting
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and system‑level issues in fast‑paced operational environments.
Cybersecurity Compliance
- Work closely with cybersecurity teams to ensure adherence to DoD IA and security requirements.
Account & System Setup
- Configure and maintain customer‑furnished IT systems, user accounts, and access controls.
User Support
- Provide system operation, restoration, and configuration assistance to end users.
Documentation
- Develop and maintain operational procedures, configuration guides, and system documentation.
Information Assurance
- Apply stringent IA policies during C4ISR service delivery and mission support.
Configuration Management
- Manage system configurations and recommend upgrades to ADP equipment.
Operational Support
- Participate in special projects, operational exercises, and periodic shift work.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of related experience OR a Master's Degree with 8 years of related experience. (Additional related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Must have Windows and Linux systems administration.
Security+
certification (DoD 8570 IAT Level II).
Experience supporting
Air Force ISR operations
and related systems.
Current
TS/SCI
clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
AWS Solutions Architect
training.
Prior experience supporting
Air Force ISR units
.
Network+
and
Server+
certifications.
