THE POSITION

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Bureau of State Parks, offers you a fantastic opportunity to join our team as a Lifeguard Supervisor and positively impact the summer experience for visitors.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this vital position, you will oversee public safety operations by supervising Lifeguards tasked with patrolling, observing, and monitoring the swimming pool at Codorus State Park to ensure visitor safety and maintain order. Your responsibilities will include planning and organizing work assignments for your team, preparing performance evaluations, and identifying training needs to facilitate further education for subordinates. You will also demonstrate proper techniques, communicate changes in rules and policies, and actively participate in rescue operations for distressed swimmers. Additionally, you will administer first aid and CPR to injured visitors while enforcing the park's regulations and procedures.Interested in learning more? Work hours are 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunchWork days will vary, employee will work 5 of 7 days per work week, to include weekends, holidays and all shifts as neededTelework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:Two seasons of experience as a Lifeguard (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); orAn equivalent combination of experience and training.Special Requirements:All employees must obtain a valid Lifeguard Certification or Lifeguard Management Certification issued by the American Red Cross, YMCA, United States Lifesaving Association, or other authority recognized by the Pennsylvania Department of Health within 14 days of employment.All employees must obtain valid certification
