In this vital role, you will play a key part in ensuring the safety and well-being of our visitors by monitoring swimming areas, enforcing park regulations, and responding to emergencies. DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Lifeguard, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the safety of the public at the Lackawanna State Park Swimming Pool. This involves actively patrolling the area, observing swimmers, and maintaining order to prevent accidents. You will need to be vigilant in recognizing swimmers in distress and employing established lifesaving techniques to assist them. Staying alert at your designated post is crucial, as you will be required to scan the swimming area continuously and respond promptly to any emergencies. Additionally, you will administer first aid, artificial respiration, and CPR to injured visitors, ensuring you are trained in techniques for adults, infants, and children. Compliance with the Bureau of State Parks' swimming regulations is essential, and you will also be responsible for inspecting safety equipment, including buoys, floats, and first aid supplies, to confirm they are in good working condition.Interested in learning more? The season runs from Memorial Day through Labor Day.Full-time and part-time schedules availableWork hours are 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunchWork schedule will vary, 37.5 hour work week, weekends, holidays and all shifts will be required.Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
