seeks a dynamic candidate
with
expertise
in Rehabilitation Science and/or Exercise Physiology
who is committed to teaching excellence and to maintaining an active research program involving both undergraduate and graduate students
. This appointment carries an initial two-year probationary appointment beginning with the 2026/2027 academic year with a start date of August 18, 2026.
MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS
:
Earned doctorate in Rehabilitation Science, Exercise Physiology, or related area by August 18, 2026 (ABD applicants may be considered but must complete the terminal degree by the start date).
PREFERRED
QUALIFICATIONS
:
Successful college/university teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Evidence of professional and scholarly activity and commitment to student/faculty research at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Ability to teach core program courses and/or courses serving multiple department programs. Experience in supervising clinical students, if applicable. Experience working in clinical, commercial, worksite, and/or community health/fitness settings and professional certification through nationally recognized organizations (ACSM, NSCA, or NASM) are also preferred. Demonstrated commitment to support and enhance the diversity and cultural and global awareness of students, faculty, and staff.
DUTIES
:
Teach up to an equivalent of 12 credits per semester/24 per year of courses in the area of expertise (e.g. Evidenced-Based Practices/Research Methods, Exercise Physiology, Fitness Assessment/Exercise Prescription, Clinical Populations, Manual Therapy Techniques, etc.) as a faculty member in the department; advise undergraduate and graduate students within the Rehabilitation Science and/or Master's of Exercise Physiology program; engage in scholarly activities through collaboration with students and other faculty members within and outside the department; provide service to the department, college, university, profession, and community.

:
The Department of Kinesiology consists of 12 faculty and instructional academic staff and approximately 720 majors and minors. Department faculty are dedicated to teaching and student learning and are actively engaged in student-faculty research. The Department is a regional leader in the preparation for pre-professional undergraduate students entering into PT, OT, and Clinical Exercise Physiology graduate programs. The Department is also recognized for community outreach programs that offer health and physical activity opportunities for individuals living in the Eau Claire area. In addition, the Department collaborates with Mayo Clinic and other clinical entities in the region to provide both clinical education and research opportunities for students.
