Capability Manager
Overview
The Capability Manager is responsible for building, developing, and sustaining organizational capabilities aligned with business strategy and delivery objectives. This role focuses on workforce planning, skills development, capability maturity, and continuous improvement to ensure teams are equipped to deliver high-quality outcomes across programs and projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Capability Strategy & Planning
Define and implement capability management strategies aligned with business and program goals
Identify current and future capability needs across domains (e.g., delivery, engineering, testing, architecture)
Develop capability roadmaps, including skills, tools
Partner with leadership to align capability development with strategic priorities
Proactively leading initiatives to drive Capability improvements
2. Workforce & Resource Management
Track resource capacity, utilization, and skill distribution
Drive workforce planning, including hiring, onboarding, and succession planning
Demand management
PSA / WPN / WDR
Knowledge of tools and dashboards from corporate DXC
Manage attrition risks and implement mitigation strategies
Maintain accurate capability and skills inventory
3. Stakeholder Management
Act as a key interface between delivery teams, HR, and senior leadership
Provide regular updates on capability health, risks, and opportunities
Support program managers and delivery leads with resource and capability insights and deal with challenges
Continuous feedback management between delivery and individuals
Escalation management
Reporting
Define KPIs and dashboards for capability tracking (e.g., utilization, skill coverage, training completion)
Use data-driven insights (Power BI, Excel, dashboards) to inform decisions
4. Performance Management
Regular one-to-one sessions with every employee
Goals and Performance plans ensured for individuals
Recognition and reward management for the team
Absence management
Training and Development management
Support performance reviews and talent development discussions

5. Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve delivery efficiency through capability enhancements
Drive initiatives around automation, process optimization, and innovation
Capture lessons learned and embedded improvements into capability frameworks
Required Skills & Experience
Strong understanding of capability management, workforce planning, and skills frameworks
Experience in program/project delivery environments (preferably in technology or insurance domain)
Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (Excel, Power BI, dashboards)
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Ability to manage distributed/global teams
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Knowledge of agile and delivery methodologies
