THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will perform routine work in the preparation of meals and the sanitation of food preparation and serving areas. Your work will involve preparing food as directed, lifting cases of food and beverage products, and loading and transporting food carts. You will also read and interpret color coding for special diets, assemble resident trays following a menu ticket, and set up the serving line as needed. Some of your duties will include loading and operating a dish machine, cleaning dining rooms and serving areas, and cleaning and sanitizing food preparation equipment. Additionally, you will record use of food and non-food items on inventory sheets and assist in the preparation for special functions.Interested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employment, 40 hours biweeklyWork hours are 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM, with rotating days off and holidays.Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONSAdditional Requirements:You must be able to perform essential job functions.Preferred Qualifications (not required):Food service experience in an assisted living facility, nursing home, hospital, restaurant, or other food service operationWork experience interacting with patients, residents, or customers while serving food/cleaning in patient/resident rooms or a dining room settingWork experience with food safety and sanitation in a dietary departmentExperience in the following tasks:Cleaning, washing, peeling, slicing and dicing food itemsUsing kitchen equipment such as VCM/food processor/tabletop chopper/garbage disposalChopping, dicing and slicing meats, poultry, fish and cheesesHeating simple foods such as eggs, sandwiches and hambu
