The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Northern Region Highways and Aviation is looking for a Full-Time Equipment Operator Journey 2 in Nome to help us Keep Alaska Moving!
What you will be doing:
Equipment Operator Journey 2:
Perform year-round maintenance of state highways and airports, including operating and servicing heavy and light-duty equipment.
Operate various machinery such as graders, dozers (D4 to D7), loaders, semi-tractors with belly dumps, and snow removal equipment for tasks like plowing, hauling, ditching, and surface repairs.
Conduct traffic control duties including flagging and support general maintenance activities like vegetation control, sign and fence upkeep, and drainage structure maintenance.
Perform additional duties such as welding, steam boiler operation for thawing drainage structures, vehicle maintenance, and shop cleanup.
May serve as lead, requiring daily entries into the State MMS computer system.
