As an Equipment Operator B in the Rothrock Forest District, you will play a vital role in the stewardship of Pennsylvania's stunning forests. This position allows you to showcase your skills in operating various heavy-duty equipment while maintaining district roads, trails, and facilities. DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this position, you will be responsible for a range of operations, including road maintenance, trail construction, and habitat restoration within Rothrock State Forest. You will navigate diverse terrains and varying weather conditions to ensure that all tasks are performed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. Your duties will also include conducting routine maintenance on District heavy equipment, which encompasses daily, weekly, monthly, and annual checks. Furthermore, you will oversee the maintenance, repair, and construction of roads, facilities, and equipment within the State Forest.Interested in learning more? The season runs from approximately March 2026, through November 2026, at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment March 2027.Work hours are 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Tuesday - Thursday, 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
