THE POSITION
If you are passionate about the outdoors and possess the technical skills to operate heavy machinery, we have an exciting seasonal role for you! As an Equipment Operator B in the Clear Creek Forest District, you will be essential in caring for Pennsylvania's beautiful forests. This position offers the chance to demonstrate your expertise in handling various heavy-duty equipment while maintaining roads, trails, and facilities within the district. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this role, you will manage various operations such as road maintenance, trail construction, and habitat restoration within the Clear Creek Forest District. You will work across different terrains and weather conditions to ensure that all tasks are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. Your responsibilities will also include performing routine maintenance on heavy equipment, which involves daily, weekly, monthly, and annual inspections. Additionally, you will be in charge of the maintenance, repair, and construction of roads, facilities, and equipment throughout the State Forest.Interested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.Work Schedule and Additional Information:Seasonal full-time employment. The season runs from approximately March 2026, through November 2026, at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment March 2027.Work hours are 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Wednesday, 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Thursday, with a 30-minute lunch.Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:One year of experience as an Equipment Operator A; orTwo years of experience in the operation of heavy construction and specialized maintenance equipment used at this level with a gross vehicle weight of 32,001 pounds or more; orAny equivalent combination of experience or training.Conditions of Employment:This position requires possession of a Class A commercial driver's license (CDL) and any e
