About the Position

This position is with the MS State Department of Health, Bureau of Public Water Supply - 570 E. Woodrow Wilson, Jackson, MS. The job duties entail reviewing data received from water systems for upload usage to a State/Federal database and rule management of the Consumer Confidence Report (CCR). Ensuring correct data is generated and compiled electronically for public water systems. Tracking non submitted information by contacting water system officials with letters of violation, telephone calls, and email messaging is required. Providing guidance and technical assistance. For training purposes, some public speaking and traveling may be required.
Knowledge of State law, State regulations, Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), and/or Code of Federal Regulations (CFR). Excellent writing and communication skills. Taught and/or has performed as a trainer. Interprets difficult information (regulations, law, etc.) to understandable concepts and scenarios. **This is a non-state service (NS14), time-limited position with the Mississippi State Department of Health. **

What you'll need to be Successful

Applicant must be a knowledgeable user of Microsoft Office Suite Software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Teams, etc.). Regulatory and/or compliance experience, preferred. Knowledge of working with database systems, preferred.
