THE POSITION

As an Environmental Specialist Trainee, you will participate in a 12-month on-the-job training program and be part of a supportive team that is dedicated to your professional growth. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As an Environmental Specialist Trainee, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all properties and activities related to the agency adhere to federal, state, local, and military environmental laws, policies, and regulations. You will collaborate with agency staff, military personnel, other government agencies, and the general public to carry out tasks related to environmental planning and compliance. Your responsibilities will also involve monitoring and ensuring compliance with a variety of environmental regulatory programs and laws to promote the safety and sustainability of DMVA and the PA Army National Guard. Some examples of work include conducting environmental impact assessments for proposed actions; aiding in the collection and organization of geospatial data held by the agency; and communicating environmental requirements for activities such as construction, renovation, maintenance, and demolition. Other tasks may include assisting with land conservations programs; contributing to the preparation of Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERLA)/Environmental Condition of Property (ECP) documentation; and completion of facility environmental compliance assessments.Interested in learning more?
