DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this role, you will provide educational materials and information to increase community awareness about substance abuse and gambling. You will deliver presentations to civic groups, schools, and community organizations, and you will facilitate prevention programs within local schools.You will also refer individuals and families seeking treatment or counseling to appropriate community resources and enter required information into the state program system. Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employment.Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.This position may require travel as needed. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:One year as a Drug and Alcohol Prevention Specialist Trainee; orA Bachelor’s Degree in Health Education, Education, the Social or Behavioral Sciences or related fields and one year experience in drug and alcohol prevention work; orAny equivalent combination of experience and training. Other Requirements:You must meet the PA residency requirement. For more information on ways to meet PA residency requirements, follow the link and click on Residency Guidelines. You must be able to perform essential job functions.Legal Requirements: You must pass a background investigation. This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearan
