Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented
Design Manager - Fire, Life & Safety
to join our team! In this role you will get to be the
primary technical interface and coordination authority for all fire, life, and safety (FLS) matters across the Logistics Sector.
What You'll Be Doing:
Manage appointed FLS consultant engagements through their full lifecycle - including scope management, program tracking, and commercial close-out
Verify that consultant deliverables meet the required quality, completeness, and timeliness standards before formal acceptance
Serve as the primary coordination interface between Client development and project teams, the Client's appointed FLS consultant, design consultants, and general contractors on all FLS-related matters across the Logistics Sector
Facilitate and chair regular FLS coordination meetings across all active projects within the Logistics Sector, maintaining clear action logs, decision records, and issue trackers
Proactively identify and resolve conflicts, gaps, or misalignments between FLS requirements and design or construction activities, escalating unresolved issues through appropriate program governance channels
Coordinate FLS inputs across multi-discipline design meetings, BIM reviews, and 3D coordination workflows to ensure fire and life safety requirements are embedded at every stage.
Coordinate responses to Client's-appointed FLS Consultants and GDCD queries and comments in collaboration with the FLS consultant and design teams, ensuring timely resolution and resubmission where required
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Fire Safety Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline
Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in fire protection engineering, fire safety management, or design management roles with a strong FLS focus
Demonstrated experience on large-scale, complex built environment projects; experience on logistics/industrial facilities, mixed-use developments, entertainment venues, or giga-projects is strongly preferred
In-depth working knowledge of NFPA Standards, Saudi Building Code (SBC), Civil Defense requirements, and applicable international fire safety codes
Proven experience coordinating multi-party FLS design and contractor interfaces in a program management or client-representative context
Demonstrated experience managing regulatory submissions and approvals processes through GDCD and the Saudi Civil Defense framework
Experience drafting and managing consultant task orders, service orders, or scope-of-service agreements, including review of consultant invoices and deliverable verification
Proficiency in REVIT and AutoCAD with a minimum of 5 years' design-stage experience; proficiency in Bluebeam Revu and/or Adobe Acrobat for drawing review and mark-up
Familiarity with document management platforms; Aconex experience is an advantage
Registered Fire Protection Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) equivalent is strongly preferred. Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) or eligibility to obtain SCE registration is required to practice in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Relevant professional certifications such as NEBOSH Fire Safety, IFE membership, or CFPA equivalent are highly desirable
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic language skills are highly desirable

Ability to balance technical rigor with practical, program-conscious problem-solving
Self-motivated and delivery-focused, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams under pressure
