DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this position, you will participate in an extensive one-year training program that integrates formal education with hands-on experience to develop vital skills in public engagement and customer service. You will explore contemporary trends and challenges in outdoor recreation and conservation while acquiring fundamental knowledge in conservation principles, environmental education, public safety, and relevant departmental policies. Your responsibilities will include assisting with park patrols and effectively managing various situations, such as safety issues, visitor support, emergencies, and legal infractions. Additionally, you may be tasked with maintaining daily and monthly logs to record campground conditions, visitor safety, incidents, and financial transactions, as well as processing permits and ensuring the accuracy of daily receipts for fee collection and bank deposits.Work Schedule and Additional Information:Seasonal Full-time employment, 40 hour work weekWork Days: 5 out of 7 days per week. Will include evenings, weekends, and holidays.Work Hours are varied eight-hour shifts, with 30-minute paid lunch.Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
