About the Agency

About the Position
This position is with the Mississippi Insurance Department, Information Technology Division. Second-level professional position accountable for applying and using experience in the field of data management to prepare moderate to complex data systems and analysis specifications, and install and test data management systems. Conducts data modeling and design services. Tunes database applications for optimal performance. Supports the design of detailed conceptual data models and the translation into outline designs. Migrates data management systems into operational environments while ensuring data security and integrity. May provide technical leadership to first-level staff. Runs moderate to complex data analytics tools. Acts with independence and may be accountable for a significant portion of a large project or enhancement. What you'll need to be Successful
Successful candidates must have a good attitude, ready and willing to learn and grow; have strong attention to detail; strong communication skills, excellent organizational skills and willing to work with other team members.
Preferred Qualifications
Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree and 2-5+ years of IT experience with emphasis in data management.
Prefers experience with Microsoft Visual Studio.NET, HTML, Microsoft SQL, Oracle, VB and ASP.
