About the Agency

The mission of Specialized Treatment Facility (STF) is to promote and strengthen the mental health and the education of up to 48 adolescent males and females who are experiencing behavioral difficulties in their homes, schools, and communities. Specialized Treatment Facility employs milieu therapy as the foundation for the treatment of its residents. Milieu therapy is a planned treatment environment in which everyday events and interactions are therapeutically designed for the purpose of enhancing social skills and building confidence. This therapy uses common structures familiar to all children, such as daily routines, consistent rules, and activities.

About the Position

Custodians are accountable for cleaning office areas or resident areas. These positions work under general direction and follow set instructions and directions as part of a cleaning crew, and independently at times. This position operates a variety of power cleaning equipment. Custodians are responsible for maintaining an inventory of supplies and tools and notifying the supervisor of resupply needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Custodians perform housekeeping duties throughout the program by cleaning all Pods: kitchens, dining rooms, and day rooms. Custodians clean the gym, the education building, and all front and back entrances. They follow all health codes and sanitation procedures as directed. Custodians are required to successfully operate the following machines: carpet machine, and high and low-speed buffers. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to strip and wax floors. Custodians monitor and maintain cleaning supplies throughout the facility. They remove trash and unneeded items throughout the facility, as well as provide disinfecting treatments if required throughout the facility in support of infectious disease. Custodians must have the ability to identify and use the proper cleaning chemicals and be able to instruct staff who work in the Pods on proper cleaning procedures. Custodians complete facility training programs through active testing and study courses. All STF employees are responsible for reading, understanding, and adhering to all policies, protocols, and memorandums. Maintains a certification in Mandt as required by STF. Universal Precautions and Infection Control policies must be adhered to by all STF employees. Universal precautions were designed for doctors, nurses, patients, and healthcare workers who came into contact with patients and their bodily fluids.
