Join our dedicated team of child welfare professionals, and support children and families in need in Jefferson County. DESCRIPTION OF WORK Casework is comprised of two distinct roles: Investigating allegations of abuse and neglect and ongoing support for children and families. Every day presents different challenges which may include investigating allegations of abuse or neglect, working with school partners to remedy truancy, collaborating with mental health providers to serve the needs of children and families, or testifying in court to support and protect children from suspected abuse or neglect. Casework requires face to face contact with children and families. Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employment.Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.Possible overtimeTelework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.Each year of employment counts towards Public Student Loan Forgiveness (PSLF).You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:Six months of experience as a County Caseworker 1; orSuccessful completion of the County Social Casework Intern program; orA bachelor's degree with a social welfare major; or A bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of professional social casework experience in a public or private social service agency; orAny equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within two months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.Other Requirements:PA residency requirement is currently waived for this titleThis particular position also requires you to possess a valid driver's license which is not under suspension.You must be able to perform essential job functions.Legal Requireme
