DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This is a beginner social casework position providing a wide range of services in child welfare. Employees in this class provide casework services to abused and/or neglected children and youth and their families which include dependent children, adolescents, adults, and families to help them attain a more satisfactory social, economic, emotional, or physical adjustment. An important aspect of this work is utilizing casework skills in obtaining essential information and in aiding families to utilize all available resources. The caseworker provides support to children and/or youth and adolescents experiencing difficulties and provides an effort to facilitate growth, behavioral, and emotional improvements to those individuals and their families. Work is performed in accordance with established regulations, policies, and procedures.Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employment.Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.This position requires on-call and covering other emergencies outside regular hours.Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:Two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 and two years of college level course work which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; orA bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by successful completion of 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; orAny equivalent combination of experience
