The Department of Corrections (DOC), State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Forest is seeking an energetic, enthusiastic, self-motivated person with the required experience to work as a Corrections Food Service Instructor. Join the DOC in their mission to reduce criminal behavior by providing individualized treatment and education to offenders, resulting in successful community reintegration through accountability and positive change. DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Corrections Food Service Instructor, you will function as lead worker by assigning, participating in, and reviewing routine and specialized tasks performed by inmates in the areas of pre-preparation, production, service, and baking. You will ensure proper control over inmates by enforcing custody and security regulations, as well as inspecting all food service areas, equipment, and food for conformance with established safety and sanitation standards. Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employment, 40 hours per weekWork hours are 1st shift (4:30 AM to 12:30 PM) or 2nd shift (12:00 PM to 8:00 PM), with rotating days off.Work schedule to be determined.This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $47,925.00 (before taxes).You will receive further communication regarding this position via email.
