For inquiries regarding this position, you can contact De'Andria Trunnell at deandria.trunnell@dor.ms.gov About the Position This position is in the Office of Information Technology. This Auditor will primarily be responsible for managing the financial modules of the MARS system and for reviewing new and existing legislation to determine modifications necessary for compliance with government regulations. They are required to identify changes needed and create solution requests for developers. This individual would be responsible for ensuring system updates, documenting their analysis, and communicating their findings to both the technical and business units. They will also work closely with our internal accounting department to ensure all necessary information is received and updated in MARS, MARVIN, and MAGIC. This individual will also train and give oral presentations regarding our financial modules as needed. Preferred Qualifications Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree and 0-2 years of experience. Agency preferred qualifications: a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in accounting or a related field and 0-3 years of experience with 24 hours of accounting as identified below: 18 hours from the following courses: • Principles of Accounting I and II • Intermediate Accounting I and II • Federal Income Tax • Auditing The remaining 6 hours may be selected from the following: • Cost Accounting • Advanced Accounting • Business Law • Advanced Auditing • Accounting Systems • Managerial Accounting • Advanced Federal Income Tax • Auditing Problems The ideal applicant would have knowledge of system testing, proficient in preparing test data and conducting pre and post implementation testing, proficient in researching and analyzing technical information, independent research skills, and strong analytical skills.
