About the Agency

About the Position

This is a non-state service (NS-14) position within the Division of Public Safety Planning (PSP), Canton, Mississippi, located in MADISON COUNTY. The responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, analyzing and maintaining assets and property records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational policies. This role requires knowledge in various Asset software tools and the ability to collaborate with multiple departments to manage asset-related data effectively. Work within the Magic system to manage asset records, including creating, displaying, and changing Asset Master Records. Regularly create asset shells and capitalize property by adding appropriate costs, asset value dates, and other necessary details. Use Magic to generate and display purchasing reports and asset reports by employee assignment. Look up serial numbers daily to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of assets. Communicate with DPS employees and other departments regarding corrections and updates needed on asset forms. Respond to inquiries and assist to ensure the accuracy of asset data and compliance with policies. Make necessary changes or corrections to asset/property master data as per forms received from various departments or sub-agencies. Use MAGIC, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Jot-form, and Win-SCP (FTP Server) for documentation and communication.

Preferred Qualifications

Typically requires a High School Diploma or high school equivalency and 0-1 years of experience.

Hiring agency's preferred qualifications: a High School Diploma or high school equivalency, and at least 1 year of experience. MAGIC Experience preferred.
