About the Agency

The Mississippi Department of Human Services is dedicated to serving others while providing a wide range of public assistance programs, social services, and support for children, low-income individuals, and families. This position is with the Division of Youth Services and will be located in Oakley Youth Development Center in Raymond, MS.

About the Position

An Academic Teaching professional position responsible for developing curriculum and lesson plans, and planning and implementing course content and methods to meet the needs of State facility clients. Employees at this level are accountable for classroom discipline and adhering to State and Federal testing guidelines and mandates. Employees may be accountable for accommodating IEPs for individuals with special needs. Employees are also accountable for preparing reports based on client attendance, performance, progress, and skills assimilation. Advanced degree-holding academic teachers may also be required to serve as school administrators.

Excellent Communication Skills, Ability to Conduct Oneself in an Ethical Manner, Excellent Interpersonal Skills, Ability to Adapt Quickly, Ability to maintain confidentiality, and an Advocate for Children.

Preferred Qualifications

Typically requires a relevant Bachelor's Degree and certification. **Agency Prefers: License In English.
